How to visit Las Palmas city from a Cruise, or from anywhere else.

How to visit Las Palmas City from a Cruise and get the best experience during your holidays.

also coming from any place of the island

5 ways to visit Las Palmas Old city (Vegueta):
(you can go to Las Canteras beach walk afterwards):

  1. Meet a local Official professional guide to help you and show city´s real secrets:  put together a small group of passenger (+4 passengers) 30€ each. Flexible time and schedule.Out of the crowd and big tourist buses, get a personal friendly direct service.Direct contact with local Culture and Know how. Ethnographic options.Exclusive selected experiences and information for you. Perfect English-Deutsch. Not so long tour 3-4 hr depending on you. It will be real value for your money and don´t wait any long rows during your loved holidays.
Live Guide: You get a service which can be adapted to your own, but not an automated or recorded voice service.
  2. Red City bus, discarded, Using this way is ridiculous as Las Palmas is not as big as Barcelona, you get 3 main touristic hot-spots in the city, and you get automated information.
  3. Do it by yourself by bus: you get bus number 1 or 12 at Santa Catalina (+- 1,20€), then you stop at San Telmo bus station and you go on by Triana Street to the old city (10 minutes walk). Same way back to Spain Square or to the harbour.(Similar to taxi drive).
  4. Do it by yourself by taxi: if you are several persons, taxis are very affordable, comfortable and useful in Las Palmas. You can take a drive to San Telmo Park, passing by Doramas Park/Hotel Santa Catalina and Altavista for photo stops. (About 10€ drive, usually you have to pay extra at harbours taxi stop). Then you go walking from San Telmo bus station and to Triana Street, to the old city (10 minutes walk). Visit the old city itself, the Santa Ana Cathedral and then many museums as the Columbus Museum. When you are ready take a taxi (10 minutes) or bus number 1 (30 minutes) back to Spain Square (Plaza de España) at the shopping area, and a 10 minutes walk back to your ship.
  5.  Official Guide ID must have every guide in a visible place:
  6. Cruise Excursions: If they are lucky to get a proffesional guide it will be a great tour. Ask for the Government Tour Guide ID with the blue and yellow Governmet logo, (not the Touroperator ID).

  •  By any of this 5 options you can enjoy the best guided moments, records and photos of your cruise holidays.
  • Visit the colonial Old City, Columbus House, Cathedral,
  • The new district and Las Canteras, one of the best beaches of Spain and two great Panoramic Views you will never forget. Las Canteras Beach is 5 minutes walk from your ship.
  • Don`t get tricked by your desk Excursions who hire not locals but  get  hired a local guide who knows it well.

If you were  from London, by example,  would you recommend some friends to join any foreigner tour guide from a far away country to guide you through London?
